Do Now:Pretend you are talking to a 6th grader. Using the vocabulary words on the “what we’re learning wall” describe what we have been doing in science class.
•In science class we are learning…
•Through the coke vs. diet coke lab we have been examining..
"Do Now" Answer:
In science class we are learning about mass, volume and density. Through the coke vs diet coke lab we have been using a triple beam balance to measure the mass of cans of coke and water. Further we used a graduated cylinder to find the volume of water. By calculating mass divided by volume we can find the density of water and the cans of coke. Densities over 1g/mL will sink, densities under 1g/mL will float. :)
Students will make sure they have all pages in their lab using the check list below:
students do an 8 question pop quiz to check for understanding about what we are learning.
