Write a definition for mass and weight and then describe 3 characteristics for mass and 3 characteristics for weight.
¤how they are measured,
¤what unit of measure is used for each
¤what affects mass and weight
"Do Now" Answer:
Mass is the amount of matter in an object while weight is the amount of gravity being pushed on an object. Mass is measured in grams, milligrams and kilograms by using tools like a triple beam balance. Mass doesn't change whether you are on the moon or the earth.
Weight is measured in pounds or newtons by using a spring scale. Weight will change based on how much gravity there is. So, if you are on the earth you will have a different weight than if you were on the moon where there isn't as much gravity.
