When you burn a candle it is a chemical reaction (flammability). The candle wax changes from wax into something new that goes into the air. The wax does NOT disappear. This is because the law of conservation of matter states that nothing can be created or destroyed. So matter (the candle wax) is NOT destroyed, just changed into something else.
